Appledore Real Estate, Inc. was founded in 1994 by UNH '82 WSBE graduate, Valerie R. Shelton, after a rewarding and successful career in the high technology industry. The office is located overlooking the shores of Great Bay at the premier waterfront community of Moody Point on Great Bay in Newmarket, New Hampshire.  Exceptional and responsive client and customer service is the foundation of our mission.

We are known throughout the area as "The Realtors Who Know the Bays Best".  Since inception, our efforts and knowledge has been focused on the water-privileged real estate market encompassing New Hampshire's Piscataqua Maritime Region: Great Bay, Little Bay, Lamprey River, Squamscott River, Bellamy River, Cocheco River, Oyster River, Piscataqua River, Winnicut River and Salmon Falls River. We have worked diligently with The Nature Conservancy and other environmental organizations to insure that a lifestyle of living in harmony with nature will be protected for all who are fortunate enough to discover New Hampshire's Hidden Coast: the Great Bay National Estuary.  I proudly serve on the boards of the Gundalow Company, as a member of the Newmarket Planning Board and commissioner on the Newmarket Conservation Commission.

Our Seacoast communities surrounding this unique inland estuary are rich in culture, history, education and economic opportunities.  It is an excellent place to reside and we would love to share with you our enthusiasm for the New Hampshire towns that encompass it: Exeter, Dover, Durham, Greenland, Newfields, Newington, Newmarket, Portsmouth, and Stratham.  Our local expertise and extensive real estate experience will benefit you whether you are serious about buying or selling a waterfront, water view, or water access home or land, or simply need advice on finding local resources.

Why the name?  We have often been asked this question.   "Appledore" is an island off the coast of New Hampshire.  It served as the gateway to this beautiful coastal region during our historical maritime era. Many famous artists and travelers took refuge in the peaceful enjoyment of the relaxed lifestyle and natural beauty found on Appledore and nearby other islands comprising the Isles of Shoals. Today, it now serves as home to the Shoals Marine Laboratory, a world-reknown state-of-the-art joint research facility of the University of New Hampshire and Cornell University.
